- Learners can interact with SPs one-on-one (usually for evaluative purposes), individually with peer observers or conduct a group interview with the SP.
- Hybrid simulations and physical examinations are more appropriate for in-person sessions.
- Scenarios focusing on learners’ interviewing, history taking and communication skills, as well as other skillsets (e.g., establishing rapport and exhibiting empathy), can be effectively accomplished via in-person or virtual SP interactions.
- Virtual simulations occur through a videoconferencing platform, such as Zoom.
- SP Trainers are available to provide guidance on developing and adapting cases to suit a virtual delivery.
For information on how to prepare, schedule and facilitate SP encounters virtually, the Virtual Simulation Facilitator Guide can be obtained by contacting us.
